Carriers of passports from countries that require entry visa to Tanzania are requested to seek more information regarding visa and other required travel documents at the Tanzania Embassy/consulate in their countries. Please check the Tanzanian immigration office website for details on which countries need entry visa at their address given here
Yellow fever vaccination is required for all travellers from yellow fever endemic countries/regions. All individuals in transit for twelve (12) hours or more and/or who leave the immediate airport vicinity in a yellow fever endemic area are required to show proof of vaccination upon arrival in any port of debarkations in Tanzania. Direct arrivals from non-endemic countries in Europe and North America are not required to show the certificate.
The local time in Tanzania is the East African Time (UTC +3). The local language is Swahili but most of the services and businesses use English as well. For local transport, participants are recommended to take a taxi cub and the reception desk at the Hotel will help you in calling the drivers.
Sponsored participants will receive tickets from organisers. For those who are covering their transport costs, please inform ARCOS secretariat as soon as possible. For those arriving at Kilimanjaro Airport, airport transfer will be arranged from Kilimanjaro Airport to Ngurdoto Mountan Lodge.
Arusha lies in the foothills of Mount Meru, Tanzania's second highest mountain. Arusha's elevation, at 1400m means the temperatures remain relatively cool all year round and chilly at night especially during the dry season from June to October. The temperature ranges between 13 and 30 degrees Celsius with an average around 25 degrees.
